How A Water Filtration System Can Help Reduce Microplastics

Have you been hearing more about microplastics recently?

Microplastics have been in the news after a study came out that asserts humans may consume a credit card’s worth of plastic every week.

What Are Microplastics?

Microplastics are plastic debris particles less than five millimeters in size. There are some microplastics even smaller than this called nanoplastics. All these particles come from the decomposition of plastic materials, which make up a large portion of the world’s waste. Microplastics can enter the soil and end up in groundwater, be eaten by fish and other wildlife humans may consume and enter the freshwater we use for drinking.

Microplastics are not entirely avoidable. They’ve been found in our clothing, food, and hygiene products. Most importantly, microplastics have been found in America’s drinking water, bottled water, and well water.

Learn how you can reduce microplastics in your water.
